Forest Town. Warsop. Mansfield Woodhouse. Pleasley.
We often call Mansfield a town of towns: a mix of friendly neighbourhoods that make a whole.
And we’re growing, with a wealth of new homes, new developments and new communities ready for the new opportunities shaping our district.
Mansfield’s a mix of tight-knit communities with more than 110,000 people. We look after our own – down-to-earth folks from all walks of life who make us a dynamic and diverse place to put down roots, step up or start afresh.
We’re home to more than 1,400 voluntary and community organisations dedicated to taking care of our people and places.
In 2022, 425+ start-ups in Mansfield remained in business after 12 months of trading – the highest figure in the country. We’re proud to back local shops, support small businesses and keep our high street buzzing.

Meet the homegrown sports stars who kicked off their careers in Mansfield
Rebecca Adlington OBE
As Britain’s most decorated female swimmer, Rebecca Adlington needs no introduction. She became a household name after winning double gold at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, breaking a world record in the process. Becky trained at the former Sherwood Baths – now renamed the Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre – right here in Mansfield.
Charlotte Henshaw MBE
Mansfield native and world paracanoe champion Charlotte Henshaw’s a bona fide legend around town. As well as winning two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games, she’s also been crowned world champion in the Women’s Paracanoe KL2 category for more than six years in a row. At age 12, Charlotte began her swimming training with the Nova Centurion Swimming Club at the Mansfield’s Water Meadows complex.
Ross Lamb
We’re not just famous for producing swimming stars, but cyclists too. Formerly a member of the Mansfield Road Club, Ross Lamb cut his teeth on our local circuit before riding in the prestigious Tour of Britain cycle race in 2022.
